The Literature Club is an organization for students interested in culture, widely defined: that is to say, not only “traditional literature” like novels, drama and poetry, but also popular media such as comics, film, television, video games, and Internet culture. Our events, therefore, emphasize the discussion and promotion of such texts, for instance the sponsoring of a film series and the hosting of various public readings. The Literature Club also reaches out to the Coimbatore community in order to spread literacy and promote English studies. We meet at least once a month to plan and coordinate our various events, and also to socialize, and talk books! Most of our members are English majors or minors, but all students are welcome!
